Reasons To Study Abroad
Berea Study Abroad at a Glance
- Must have been enrolled at Berea for the equivalent of one full academic year. (Typically, Junior standing).
- Must return to campus for at least one term after the term abroad (and take a Foreign Language class).
- Minimum GPA: 2.8.
- Completed the necessary advanced language courses.
- Received the recommendation of the foreign language program faculty.
Check out the Center for International Education page to see the most recent deadlines for applications to study abroad. Typically, February 10th is the deadline for Fall Term, Academic Year and Summer Abroad programs. The deadline for Spring Term is usually September 10th.
Make sure to observe specific deadlines for the study abroad program you are applying to as well!
- Majors are eligible for up to 75% of the estimated cost (or up to $10,000)
- Minors may receive an additional 10% on top of the funding provided by the Center for International Education.
- The remaining cost of the program is met through a combination of self-help, loans, and financial aid.
- Contact the Office of Student Financial Aid Services for individual financial arrangements.
- Note: Acceptance as a major does not guarantee a term abroad.
