SensusAccess is an automated, self-service alternate media solution. Berea College faculty, staff, and students with a @berea.edu email address can use SensusAccess to:

  • produce MP3 audio files
  • produce structured audio books
  • produce e-books
  • produce digital Braille books
  • convert inaccessible documents into more accessible formats

Confidential and FERPA-Protected Data

SensusAccess should not be used to convert any confidential and/or FERPA protected personally identifiable information (PII) or sensitive personal information (SPI).

For questions regarding FERPA protected data, please contact the Office of the Registrar. For assistance in converting FERPA protected data to an accessible format, please contact Disability & Accessibility Services (DAS).

National Center for College Students with Disabilities (NCCSD)
The NCCSD is a federally funded project by the US Department of Education that provides information about disabilities and higher education. NCCSD’s resource library is helpful to students with disabilities and their families.

Going to College with Diabetes (PDF) and College Diabetes Network
The first link leads to a self-advocacy guide for students preparing to go to college. It was published by the American Diabetes Association and provides useful information for students with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes.
The second link is a website created by the College Diabetes Network, a non-profit organization that focuses on providing resources to young adults with Type 1 Diabetes.

Elizabeth Hamblet has worked with college students with learning disabilities and ADHD for a long time.  While she specializes in helping students with learning disabilities and ADHD, her tips and strategies are relevant for all kinds of learners. She shares them here so that everyone can benefit.
